Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that protect employees and the environment within a manufacturing facility. This role balances technical regulatory compliance with strategic leadership to foster a proactive culture of prevention and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, LDEQ, parish, and municipal requirements
- Prepare and submit permit applications and manage all required regulatory reporting
- Develop, implement, and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Powered Industrial Truck, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) programs
- Champion and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficiency
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for workplace accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents to prevent recurrence
- Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees and contractors
- Manage environmental programs including waste management, air emissions, and wastewater quality, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting
- Lead emergency management planning, including fire protection programs and emergency response drills
- Promote and sustain a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across all levels of the organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline required
- Professional certifications highly preferred, including CSP (Certified Safety Professional), EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), and FA/CPR/AED
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulatory standards
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience conducting audits and incident investigations
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and promote a proactive safety culture
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment while on the production floor
- Ability to respond to emergencies, including navigating stairs and accessing various areas of the facility
