Registered Nurse - Same Day Surgery

Overview

Same Day Surgery (SDS) is fast‑paced but rewarding. You are the go‑to voice for patients before, during, and after surgery. You will provide expert nursing care, critical thinking, action, and timely communication.

• Provide patient care before and after surgery.
• Review patient history and set‑up IVs.
• Monitor vital signs and perform required clinical documentation.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑operative assessments.
• Monitor patients after surgery for pain, complications, and healing or infection at the surgery site.
• Execute CPR or other emergency measures when required.
• Collaborate to identify and meet overall patient‑care needs.
• Advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Ensure continuity of care and efficient throughput.
• Initiate patient and family education on the operation and post‑operation care.

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS & PALS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years RN flex experience.
• Preferred: BSN.
• Preferred: 1‑year related experience.
