LPN, Healthcare Nursing

Position Summary

Licensed Practical Nurse provides quality nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician or registered nurse in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and Access Health Louisiana protocols and standards.

• Education:
  • Current Louisiana LPN license and knowledge of scope of practice.
  • CPR Certification required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years in Med-Surg or clinical/hospital settings.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations.
  • High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess and evaluate patient needs and develop and implement a care plan.
  • Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Deals with and/or solves stressful situations.
  • Communicates with patients, physicians, and other staff verbally and in writing.
  • Provides safe and effective nursing care.
  • Maintains professional composure under stress.

• Stands and walks most of the day.
• Reads gauges, digital read‑outs, graphs, educational material, and patient charts (visual acuity).
• Moves to exam rooms and work spaces.
• Can travel to other Access Health Clinics as needed.
• Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, including pushing and pulling.
• Operates office equipment including telephone, printer, and fax.
• Can drive vehicle if required for occasional travel.
• OSHA Category I exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
