Position: Customer Success Manager, New Orleans , LA

The Waste Pro Sales Customer Success Manager provides for the long‑term growth and retention of WP revenues through consistent, effective existing customer interactions and relationship building activities. Through a defined territory plan, the Customer Success Manager performs proactive and reactive site visits to handle business/service changes, resolve issues, and work within existing service agreements to extend the collection, processing, transportation, and disposal of solid waste and recyclables.

The Customer Success Manager uses consultative/strategic selling skills to understand economic and buying influences and works with their Division Manager, Region Sales Manager, and other internal business partners to meet client expectations and ensure durable relationships with our customers.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develops maximum potential sales volume and profitability within a defined territory.
  • Partners with the Regional Sales Manager and Corporate Sales leadership to develop short‑ and long‑term strategic market and sales plans.
  • Creates a collaborative customer experience within the region, calling on existing customers by a proactive schedule of in‑person visits.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through direct communication and solicitation of feedback.
  • Matches Waste Pro services to client business needs and delivers required support, initiating internal change actions to exceed customer needs.
  • Effectively manages and develops service/price change transactions.
  • Uses prompt and effective communication to relay customer needs to internal operations.
  • Meets or exceeds weekly existing customer visit activity goals.
  • Understands local competition and uses industry/company knowledge to prepare winning proposals that match customer requirements.
  • Works with corporate sales, marketing, and regional management to develop bid and RFP submission packages, ensuring proposals meet all specifications, including required pro‑forma, pricing, and professional quality.
  • Interfaces with WP executives, managers, and associates to develop effective actions ensuring client success.
  • In partnership with Division Manager and Region Sales Manager, actively solves customer concerns and secures renewal contracts through negotiation, competitive pricing, and proactive adherence to the defined sales strategy.
  • Stays directly involved in complaint resolution and resolves issues as needed to support the customer and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participates in community events and activities to promote WP's distinction (e.g., Chambers of Commerce, local civic associations, charitable organizations).
  • Keeps management apprised of sales activities that may impact division, region, or company; uses Salesforce to track next steps, complete transactions, and report results; forecasts monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue.
  • Partners with Corporate Sales, Marketing, and Regional Specialists to explore press coverage, collateral literature, advertising, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Uses a standard Salesforce agreement tool to maintain status of sales activities.

  • Attends and participates in corporation‑sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Keeps up to date on current technology used by Waste Pro USA.
  • Performs any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Preferable AS/BA/BS degree in business, marketing, or communications; related work experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • 2–5 years of sales, account management, or client success experience within the managed services sector.
  • Prefer waste and recycling experience or B2B commercial/industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply consultative and solution‑based selling skills.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, bid responses, contract management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Experience in customer interaction, negotiation, presentation skills, account management, forecasting, pricing, and sales closure.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills combined with above‑average organization, interpersonal, listening, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor and integrity.
  • Basic understanding of sales automation technology (CRM) used to support the sales process.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of the waste industry, competitors, and relevant external forces influencing client buying decisions.
  • Strong problem‑solving, market research, financial/profitability analysis, pricing, and client relationship management skills.
  • Organized and intellectually able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
  • High degree of autonomy, yet team‑oriented with ability to work cross‑functionally within a dynamic environment.
  • Prepared for extensive travel within a defined sales area.
