This job answers internal and external calls for Security Operations, which average 2–3,000 transactions daily. It involves answering routine and emergency security calls, obtaining all necessary information while dispatching security officers to calls for service, and making notifications to on‑duty supervisors. The role responds to all emergency situations, all types of Hospital/Clinic codes, monitors Hospital/Clinic video screens, maintains security logs and related computer entries, and handles all calls and on‑call duties for security and emergency preparedness across the main campus and regional clinics, including notifications of security incidents and emergency preparedness issues.

EducationRequired – High School diploma or equivalent
Work ExperienceRequired – 1 year experience as a telephone operator, dispatcher, or related experience
CertificationsRequired – International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire

- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Must be proficient with Windows‑style applications and keyboard.

Physicaland Environmental Demands
The job is primarily sedentary, occasionally requiring the lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects up to 10 pounds. It involves sitting most of the time, with brief periods of walking or standing. There is no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue, and the incumbent is not required to provide emergency care or first aid. The incumbent may be exposed to hazardous medications or waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and disposal of contaminated waste.
The level of exposure may increase depending on job duties.
