The position involves evaluating and repairing small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. Technicians make equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained. Technicians work in stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers. In a store, technicians provide service to customers in Tool Rental, which includes writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, and demonstrating proper use of tools as needed.
They support day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. In non-store locations, technicians ensure units are repaired, tested for quality, and cleaned before returning to the originating store. Technicians must have thorough knowledge of all tools and effectively manage the tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
- Evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices.
- Provide service to customers in Tool Rental, write contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, and demonstrate proper tool use as needed.
- Maintain day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department.
- In non-store locations, ensure units are repaired, tested for quality, and cleaned before returning to the originating store.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all tools and manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
- Experience or ability to evaluate and repair small engines and outdoor power equipment.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in stores and repair centers.
