Brief Description
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for inspecting different equipment and performing repairs or preventive maintenance of all Ideal Market's stores when required. The Maintenance Technician must be highly skilled with various hand and power tools to support the achievement of Ideal Market's business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the store facility's equipment.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and store facilities.
- Perform carpentry functions.
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, or other parts of building structures.
- Estimate costs to repair machinery, equipment, or building structures.
- Conduct inspections of premises and equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Maintain detailed summary sheets of tasks performed with regard to preventive maintenance, diagnoses of problems and repairs performed on equipment.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed and assigned.

- Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, forklifts, saws, drills, and wrenches. Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
- Flexibility in scheduling with the availability to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime when necessary.
- Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection.
