Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Warehouse Worker to support maritime operations by handling, storing, and distributing cargo, materials, and equipment in a port or marine terminal environment. This role ensures accurate inventory control, safe cargo handling, and timely support of vessel loading and unloading activities while complying with applicable safety and security regulations.
Essential Duties:
• Receive, inspect, and document incoming cargo, supplies, and materials.
• Load, unload, stage, and secure freight for vessel, truck, or rail transport.
• Operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and yard equipment (as certified).
• Verify shipping documents, bills of lading, and inventory records for accuracy.
• Store materials in designated warehouse or yard locations following established procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Assist with vessel turnarounds by staging cargo and equipment as directed.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure warehouse and yard areas are clean and safe.
• Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and security regulations.
• Report damaged cargo, equipment issues, or safety hazards promptly.
• Work collaboratively with dock crews, logistics coordinators, and supervisors.
• Perform general warehouse housekeeping and other support tasks as assigned.
Requirements/
Skills:
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse, port, or logistics experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of inventory control and shipping documentation.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and operational instructions.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required by vessel schedules.
• Forklift or heavy equipment certification preferred.
• Experience in a port, terminal, shipyard, or maritime facility preferred.
• Familiarity with bills of lading, manifests, and cargo handling procedures preferred.
• TWIC card or ability to obtain one preferred.
• Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
