Position Summary
Under immediate supervision, responsible for the collection and distribution of premium for all Tokio Marine HCC Benefits products. Provides customer service relating to premium records and information.
* This role is hybrid but will require you to come onsite in Kennesaw GA*
Key Responsibilities- Responsibly input daily cash received through lockbox, mail, or wire transfer and enter all assigned cash into the premium accounting system.
- Verify incoming premium checks and corresponding premium statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Determine whether to apply premium or place it in an unassigned account until set up in the accounting system by the appropriate regional office.
- Engage in frequent verbal and written contact with the client to resolve any variances in premium received, commissions, rates paid, etc.
- Prepare daily deposits, examining deposits for binder premiums or premiums sent to the company in error.
- Ensure timely receipt of premiums according to department guidelines and balance daily deposits after application.
- Prepare variance and collection letters, binder letters, and premium accounting worksheets.
- File all premium applications and correspondence as completed.
- Answer questions from other departments and offices regarding application of premiums or account balances.
- Assist in educating and training colleagues in strong premium accounting practices.
- Access in-house resources, including Life Risk Management staff, actuarial, underwriting, and marketing departments to assist in attaining business goals.
- Maintain quality, quantity, and turnaround time standards of the department and company.
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
- Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.
- May be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
- May be required to move up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other devices.
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus, such as required to read a computer screen.
