What You Get To Do
  • Research tax laws
  • Gather information and explain options for best practice to clients
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax compliance
  • Prepare federal and state income tax filings
  • Ensure tax returns are filed in accordance with tax authorities
  • Assist in IRS and state audits and act as liaison between government auditors, tax consultants, and AP/AR managers
  • Work with state agencies to set up accounts
  • Work as liaison with the Sales department and tax consultants for project tax wording
  • Work as liaison with the AR manager and tax consultants to ensure invoices are taxed and coded correctly
  • Respond to various tax notices from states
  • Work on various tax projects that arise (including projects to start now and possibly future projects)
What You Have
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 3–7 years proven experience as a tax accountant, tax analyst, or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting laws and procedures
  • Computer literacy in accounting software
  • Good numerical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Knowledge of sales tax systems, specifically Avalara
Working Conditions and Environment
  • Overtime, if required by work
  • Professional office etiquette required at all times
  • Physical requirements:

    sitting, stooping, bending, visual acuity, finger dexterity, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds
