Under the general supervision of the Camp Co-Directors and the Recreation Coordinator, the Summer Camp Counselor assists with the planning, organization, supervision, and implementation of daily camp activities for up to 150 elementary-aged children.
Job Responsibilities- Serve as a positive role model and mentor to campers.
- Develop, organize, and lead daily activities aligned with weekly camp themes, including indoor and outdoor games, sports, fitness activities, and arts and crafts.
- Supervise campers during all activities, including lunch and snack times.
- Promote positive communication and professional interactions with parents and guardians.
- Communicate regularly with fellow Camp Counselors, Camp Co-Directors, the Recreation Coordinator, and Parks & Recreation staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Enforce camp rules and behavior guidelines consistently and fairly.
- Complete accurate accident, behavior, and discipline reports as required.
- Provide first aid for minor injuries as needed.
- Assist with light cleaning duties and the setup and breakdown of tables and chairs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Ability to have regular and consistent attendance.
- Availability to work a flexible daytime schedule, Monday through Friday, from May 11 through July 24 (start date flexible). Camp will not operate June 29–July 3.
- Ability to attend mandatory Summer Camp orientation and training on Saturday, May 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Must pass a mandatory drug screening.
- Regular and consistent attendance is required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must possess current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification, or be willing and able to obtain certification prior to or during employment.

This position requires the ability to perform light physical work, including standing and walking for extended periods and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to approximately 5–10 pounds.
Work Environment: Essential job functions are performed primarily outdoors and involve regular exposure to varying weather conditions and outdoor elements
