Department InformationThe History and Philosophy Department prepares students for adaptable, fulfilling careers by teaching transferable knowledge and skills through research, analysis, and effective communication. The Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences houses more than 80 programs and over 8,100 degree-seeking students, with a focus on workforce readiness in the humanities and social sciences.
Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of History in the Department of History and Philosophy, with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contract.
Responsibilities- Teach general education undergraduate courses in history
- Participation in department and campus activities
- Teach courses of variable sizes and modalities, including large class sizes
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications- A terminal degree, or foreign equivalent, in history or a related field is required at the time of hire.
- Record of teaching undergraduate students in history
- Experience teaching in different modalities, such as online or hybrid courses
- Record of past teaching survey courses in world history
- Effectiveness in teaching different course sizes, including large classes

- Teaching philosophy statement and how you will advance student success at KSU
