Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part‑time and limited‑term faculty positions in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice for the academic year 2025‑2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester‑by‑semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

- Teaching undergraduate courses in Sociology and/or Criminal Justice
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
- An earned doctoral degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field.
- Prior college‑level teaching.
- Experience teaching on‑line or hybrid courses.

Per the University System of Georgia background check policy, all final candidates will be required to consent to a criminal background investigation. Final candidates may be asked to disclose criminal record history during the initial screening process and prior to a conditional offer of employment. Applicants for positions of trust with screening results which confirm a disqualifying criminal history will be immediately disqualified from employment eligibility.
All applicants are required to include professional references as part of their application process. Some positions may require additional job‑based screenings such as motor vehicle report, credit check, pre‑employment drug screening and/or verification of academic credentials.
