Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full‑time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Art Education in the School of Art and Design with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine‑month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in both the undergraduate and the MA in Art and Design graduate programs.
  • All tenure track faculty have teaching, service, and scholarship/research activity expectations.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in Art Education, or related field, is required at the time of hire.
  • Teaching experience in higher education, museums, and/or K‑12 public schools.
  • Experience with educating and mentoring students.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Online teaching experience.
  • Evidence of peer‑reviewed research.
  • Eligibility for Georgia licensure in art education.
  • College‑level teaching experience.
  • Research interest or experience working with students with exceptionalities in art education.
  • Research interest in technology in the teaching of art.
  • Research interest or experience with early childhood art education.
  • Familiarity with edTPA performance‑based assessment and/or student‑teacher supervision.
  • Five years of experience teaching art in a K‑12 public school setting.
