Job SummaryKennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open‑rank, part‑time and limited‑term faculty positions in the Department of Physics for the academic year 2025‑2026. These positions are on an as‑needed, semester‑by‑semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teach calculus‑based and/or algebra‑based freshman/sophomore level Physics, including lectures, recitations, and laboratories.
- Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students; conduct recitations (problem‑solving sessions) to accompany algebra‑based and calculus‑based physics courses; prepare, set up and direct freshman and sophomore‑level physics laboratories.
- Create and administer examinations; evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, lecture presentations, and worksheets.
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Physics or a closely related discipline is required.
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.
- Experience teaching online or hybrid courses at a 2‑year or 4‑year college or university.
- Record of past teaching introductory physics at a college or university.
