Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

The History and Philosophy Department prepares students for adaptable, fulfilling careers by teaching a core set of transferable knowledge and skills through research, analyzing and assessing evidence, and articulating sound conclusions both orally and in writing. Students learn about the larger world by studying societies, cultures, and economies across a broad chronological and geographical spectrum, which makes them better global citizens, problem solvers, and communicators.

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,100 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences is dedicated to pioneering workforce readiness in the humanities and social sciences. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of History in the Department of History and Philosophy with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

• Teach general education undergraduate courses in history
• Participation in department and campus activities
• Faculty are expected to teach courses of variable sizes and modalities, including large class sizes.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

• A terminal degree, or foreign equivalent, in history or a related field is required at the time of hire.
• Record of teaching undergraduate students in history

• Experience teaching in different modalities, such as on-line or hybrid courses
• Record of past teaching survey courses in world history
• Effectiveness in teaching different course sizes, including large classes
