Overview
Kennesaw, GA — Northwest Classical Academy seeks a Special Education Teacher. This full-time position starts July 2026. Teachers are responsible for the education of their students, demonstrate high moral character, mastery of the subjects they teach, and collaborate to create a safe, secure, and respectful learning environment. Special Education Teachers report to the Director of Student Services on Northwest Classical Academy’s Kennesaw campus.
Responsibilities- Adhere to the school’s mission and the principles of classical education.
- Plan, organize, and implement content-focused, differentiated lessons for students across multiple grade levels.
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the direction of the Director of Student Services.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support the Director of Student Services in matters pertaining to Special Education.
- Develop and maintain a climate and culture of joy, order, and wonder in the classroom, managing student misconduct promptly and appropriately.
- Engage professionally and charitably with students, parents, other faculty, and staff.
- Model good judgment, prudence, virtue, self-discipline, and responsibility.
- Engage in professional development to deepen understanding of subject content and classical pedagogy.
- Evaluate student performance, maintain grade books in Infinite Campus, and communicate proactively with parents.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from a fully accredited college.
- Special Education qualifications per state guidance:
- Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in appropriate educational field at level T-4 or above
- Valid PSC-approved subject-specific endorsements
- Previous experience in classical education is preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Northwest Classical Academy (NCA) is a public charter school located in Kennesaw for grades K-11 for the school year and K-12 in and beyond. The school is tuition-free and no entrance testing is required. The children of full-time employees have enrollment preference.
