Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part‑time and limited‑term faculty positions in the School of Art and Design for the academic year 2025‑2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester‑by‑semester basis. Rank will be determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
  • Teach courses in the areas of Art History, Art Education, Textiles, Graphic Design, Ceramics, Comics, Digital Animation, Drawing, Illustration, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture.
  • Other responsibilities may include student teaching/clinical supervision.
Required Qualifications

To teach undergraduate courses:

  • Minimum of an earned Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Art with a concentration in any of the disciplines listed in the responsibilities section, and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline required at the time of application.

To teach graduate courses:

  • Terminal/Doctorate degree, or foreign equivalent, in an Art studio field, Art Education, Art History, or a related field such as Curriculum Development or Museum Studies required.

AND candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of field of specialization, particularly technical proficiency.
  • Experience or knowledge in implementing a variety of teaching strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to teach effectively at the college level.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites and other software related to disciplines for faculty in the areas of Graphic Communication, Digital Animation, Illustration, Sequential Art, and Textiles.
