Department InformationThe Department of Theatre & Performance Studies offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre and performance studies with four comprehensive concentrations: acting, design and technology, musical theatre, and performance studies. The department provides students with a wide range of performing arts experiences, including mainstage productions, classic plays, new work, storytelling, improv comedy, puppetry, and poetry. Relationships with professional theaters and community partners allow students to integrate classroom learning into real‑world opportunities.
Job SummaryWe are accepting applications for a pool of open‑rank, part‑time and limited‑term faculty positions in the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies for the academic year 2025‑2026. Positions are semester‑by‑semester on an as‑needed basis. Rank will be determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. All work will be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in Theatre and/or Performance Studies in disciplines such as acting, design, technology, history, theory, musical theatre, performance studies, or other areas as needed. Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Theatre/Performance Studies or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
- A minimum of two years of collegiate and/or professional teaching experience, along with an established record of professional experience in the field.
