Job SummaryAdministers and monitors exams for the assigned program(s). Resolves any conflicts during testing to ensure a quiet testing environment. Adheres to the testing standards as outlined by the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) and all NCTA Professional Standards guidelines. This position is considered limited‑term staff and uses contingent funding. Employment thereafter will be conditional based on the continued availability of funding.
Responsibilities- Ensures exams are proctored by distributing and/or collecting exam materials, accepting responsibility for tracking time limits of the exam, and initiates password protected exams.
- Proctors students and resolves conflicts during testing to ensure a secure and quiet testing environment.
- Reports any irregularities, abnormalities, and/or violations of test policies and professional guidelines such as suspected cheating, unruly behavior, and/or technical issues to a leader.
- Identifies and resolves testing issues in a professional and unbiased manner involving key personnel as needed.
- Ensures adherence to ATI, NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines, and institutional policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Maintains a physical presence within the examination room, monitoring all examinees' activity before, during, and after the examination.
- May assist with providing accommodation testing services for qualified students registered with Student Disability Services (SDS).
- May work with students who need special accommodations, including but not limited to reading tests, scribing tests, and/or providing alternative format testing materials (e.g., Speech‑to‑text, or CCTV).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of related experience in an educational environment.
- Certified proctor based on the requirements of the testing vendor.
- An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.
- Previous experience in higher education.
- Maintain appropriate proctor certification training and maintain proctoring standards as needed.
- Handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills.
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
- Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills.
- Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette.
- Not a supervisory position.
- No financial responsibilities.
- No driving required.
- Not considered a position of trust.
- Does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card).
- No travel required.
- No security clearance required.
Standard Enhanced background check required. Final candidates must consent to a criminal background investigation.
Proposed SalaryThe budgeted salary is $15.00 per hour.
