Director of Resource Strategy and Management, Librarian Associate Professor or Librarian Professor

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Director of Resource Strategy and Management and Librarian Associate Professor or Librarian Professor faculty position in the Kennesaw State University Libraries with a preferred start date of December 2026. This is a twelve-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Resource Strategy and Management supports student success by enabling the efficient and affordable curation, acquisition, assessment, and discovery of library resources and collections. The unit also supports and maintains library systems to improve access to and navigation of resources and collections.

• Lead the effective and efficient operation of Resource Strategy and Management for the University Libraries on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.
• Directly supervise and manage unit employees including hiring, training, mentoring, establishing workloads, setting expectations, and completing reviews.
• Create, review, and update policies, procedures, and workflows for the unit.
• Identify, develop, and advocate for training or professional development opportunities for the unit.
• Work collaboratively with multiple constituencies inside and outside of the library and university to improve and develop services for the unit.
• Participate on the University Libraries’ leadership team to identify issues, proactively solve problems, collaborate on projects, and inform strategic direction and planning.
• Teach classes for The Keeping Sights Upward (KSU) Journey Honors College
• Engage in service to the University Libraries, the campus, or the profession.
• Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

Because our libraries are open 7 days a week and, in the evenings, the position will occasionally be required to work during these times to serve the needs of the students. This position will work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

Terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, appropriate to a contemporary research-intensive library, such as an MLIS, or other related equivalent terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent.
3 years or more of supervisory experience
5 years or more of experience as a librarian in an academic library

Excellent presentation, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Experience in collection development, acquisitions, library systems, or library technical services.
Project management experience.
Experience working in a consortia environment with a shared ILS.
