Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Environmental Science in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology with a preferred start date of August 2027. This is a nine‑month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Environmental Science such as Introduction to Environmental Science (ENVS 2202K), Introductory Geosciences I (GEOL 1121K), and the Environmental Science Senior Seminar (ENVS 4399). Other teaching responsibilities may include Environmental Science courses for non‑majors, including Science Society and the Environment I and II (SCI 1101 and 1102) and other courses in one's area of expertise as needed by the department.
- Service on Departmental and College level committees is expected. Participation in the assessment process for the B.S. in Environmental Science degree is also expected, as well as providing input regarding the curriculum for the degree program.
- There are no research expectations for this position, and there is no departmental support for research for this position.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Environmental Science or a closely related field is required at the time of hire.
