Job Overview

Selectek is partnering with a firm based in Kennesaw, GA to hire a Geotechnical Engineer on a direct-hire basis. Duties include utility coordination, boring layout, seismic refraction and shear wave velocity data collection, resistivity survey data collection, subcontractor coordination, soil classification, drafting boring logs and figures, technical engineering analysis, and report writing.

Employment Details

Employment Type: Direct Hire
Location: Kennesaw, GA
Expected Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annual base before permanent conversion depending on experience and certification.

Requirements
  • Geotechnical Engineering experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3–7 years' experience
  • PE License or ability to obtain one within a year (preferred, may be waived depending on experience)
  • Construction Materials experience
  • Experience with industry standard geotechnical software (LPILE, SLIDE, gINT, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite

Job Order Details Observation

Oversee and manage employees who observe work for compliance with project drawings, specifications, and Code requirements.

Testing

Ensure field and laboratory testing complies with applicable standards (ASTM D-422, D-689, D-1556, D-1557, D-2172, D-2216, D-2487, D-2937, D-4318, D-6938, C-31, C-39, C-42, C-78, C-109, C-140, C-143, C-173, C-231, C-1019, C-1314, E-605, E-736, E-1155, F-1869, F-2170, ASTM STP 39).

Documentation

Document field observations, test results, and recommendations in clear English. Review employee field reports for content and accuracy.

Project Management

Perform general project management duties: set up projects, complete set-up sheets, obtain drawings and specs, coordinate schedules, communicate with clients and construction teams, write technical reports (footing letters, remedial recommendations, etc.), visit project sites, ensure timely transmission of reports, invoice the project, review Budget Summary Reports, perform collection duties, attend meetings, and enhance Company image with professionalism.

Business Development

Attend appropriate functions and prepare proposals as directed by supervisor.

Certification

Obtain and maintain relevant ACI, ICC, OSHA certifications, and other certifications as required.
