What You Get To DoThe responsibilities of this position include creating logistical software solutions that accommodate customer requests and system solutions, and preparing technical project documents—Process Description, Development Specifications, Calculations, Project timelines—in close cooperation with customers, suppliers, and internal departments. You will develop overall business needs that are incorporated into the proposed layout, and provide the best overall design solution for customers, meeting all financial, functional, OSHA, and safety criteria.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Development of cost and performance‑optimized software solutions.
- Programming of process, software, and systems solutions using Process4
Biz BPMN and technical descriptions. - Active coordination and support in the creation of layouts in Vector Works.
- Creation of solution descriptions including solution boundaries, interface specifications, etc.
- Investigate, analyze, and make recommendations on technology improvements, upgrades, and modifications.
- Shared responsibility as a project member or Software Lead for the developed logistics software solution.
- Creation of Development Orders (ZDR / Dev Ops) and assistance in the execution of changes before and after implementation.
- Technical support to the Sales Department, especially on complex projects.
- Active decision‑making in selecting and using software and control components; clarification and specification of developments with functional departments.
- Perform data analysis and strategic system development.
- Offer calculations for software, introduction scenarios, and specification of relevant components (hardware and software).
- Solid understanding of network infrastructures.
- Customer communication, project management, and presentation on‑site or at KNAPP headquarters; preparation of presentation documents including graphical project planning results.
- Actively participate and lead PO workshops.
- Excellent knowledge of logistics and understanding of complex workflows with customers.
- Documentation of the finalized project documents.
- Qualified and experienced contact person for specific project‑related information.
- Provide training and ongoing guidance for new employees.
- Lead project teams.
- Support strategic developments.
- Required degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Required 3+ years in intralogistics automation software and process design.
- Preferred 3+ years of warehouse operation and automation experience.
- Excellent knowledge of intralogistics—automated storage systems, complex processes, and customer workflow.
- Desirable knowledge of KNAPP products, systems, functions, and application areas.
- Strong knowledge of intralogistics/automation software architecture (WMS, WES, WCS, SRC), interface communication, programming, databases, and data structures.
- Strong knowledge of inventory strategies commonly deployed in warehousing.
- Knowledge of picking technologies such as automated storage systems, goods‑to‑person, PTL, Central Belt Systems (CBS), AMRs/AGVs, sorters, and deployment methods.
- Language:
English required;
Spanish or German strongly preferred. - Good presentation technique and persuasiveness.
- Software knowledge required: MS Office suite (including Advanced Excel, Visio, PowerPoint), Oracle, Vector Works (basic), AutoCAD (basic), Process4

- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Passport or ability to obtain a passport.
- Professional office etiquette required.
