Department InformationThe Mechanical Engineering department at SPCEET is one of the largest in the college. It offers undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering, an MS in Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering. The department features distinguished faculty, hands-on and project-based learning, extensive undergraduate research, and state-of-the-art laboratories.
Job SummaryKennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the academic year. Positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in solid mechanics, aerospace engineering, and/or capstone design.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required QualificationsTo teach undergraduate courses:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
To Teach Graduate Courses
- A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- Experience with FEA software (Solid Works, ANSYS or NASTRAN)
- Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
