About This Role
This role is responsible for ensuring products meet functional and compliance requirements throughout all phases of development. The engineer will develop, document, execute, and analyze hardware tests; identify issues and recommend corrective actions; support hardware quality and reliability standards; and provide regular progress updates. This position also serves as a key technical liaison between Hardware and Firmware Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Writing and executing test plans and test cases in a project or complex HW QA activities within larger projects.
- Lead testing task and time estimates during project schedule development and the program planning phase.
- Lead test plans creation efforts and ensures test plans are completely defined, concise and provide traceability to product requirement documents. Review ATORs, attend Product Team Meetings and coordinate with HW Product Owner as required.
- Lead design verification efforts for new and existing products, agency compliance testing and component qualification. Includes coordinating, scheduling, and performing testing at external labs as required.
- Develop test automation methods, including acceptance methodologies, and supporting application software.
- Manage the HW test lab, including equipment inventory control, equipment calibration, lab safety, and overall organization.
- Testing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies.
- Detailed documentation of test conditions and results in final reports for functional, compliance and engineering directed tests. Including coordinating approval of reports with HW Design Engineers. Such as temperature & environmental, power quality, preliminary emissions, EFT and ESD tests
- Generate FW Test SoW for HW Functional Test purposes. Includes testing test drivers, working with onshore and offshore FW teams and providing feedback as needed.
- Generate NPD checkout procedures.
- Design and construction and wiring of test jigs, fixtures and boxes used to facilitate testing
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in PCB testing and troubleshooting
- Linux experience
- Soldering experience
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $ annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other CompensationThis position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
