About This Role
As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the designing of advanced building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. You will work well in a team and provide excellent problem‑solving, time‑management, and multi‑tasking skills. Your role involves solving complex problems, providing input on new products and processes, coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to less experienced engineering professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Design and program advanced building automation systems, site‑specific configuration of control systems, and control algorithms.
- Develop and mentor other Controls Engineers.
- Adhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.
- Create clear design documents for project teams with technical information.
- Document and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.
- Develop graphical and text‑based interfaces for building automation systems.
- Test programming and interfaces prior to implantation.
- Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.
- Support functional testing for complex building systems.
- Provide input and advise others on design and programming standards, including parts and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of HVAC/Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience.
- Associate Degree with 8+ years of HVAC/Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience.
- High School Diploma or GED and 10+ years of HVAC/Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience.
- Advanced degree in an Engineering or Construction discipline.
- Experience in HVAC controls or related industry.
- Proficient with advanced functions of building automation system software and associated engineering tools;
Automated Logic suites preferred. - Advanced working knowledge of Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add‑ons, and services.
- Proficient in third‑party communication protocols used in building automation, such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2, etc.
- Knowledge of Enterprise IP networks and Microsoft Visio, or similar software.
- Experience with advanced written sequences of operations and diagrammatic depictions of systems.
- Ability to translate technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Provide guidance and direction to other team members.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 and $ annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other CompensationThis position is entitled to short‑term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
