ESI, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Electrical Designer to join our team in Kennesaw, Georgia. This position will work with engineers and other project disciplines to develop accurate, coordinated electrical drawings and 3D models for steam and power generation projects using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Manage.
Responsibilities- Coordinate electrical design and drafting for steam and power generation projects
- Develop and maintain Revit and AutoCAD drawings, including single line diagrams, cabling plans, wiring diagrams, equipment location plans, lighting layouts, grounding plans, lightning protections plans, electrical underground drawings, and cable tray layouts
- Create and update Revit models of electrical equipment, cable tray, conduit, lighting, and other electrical systems
- Coordinate electrical drawings and models with other project disciplines to identify and resolve design conflicts
- Review drawings and models for accuracy, consistency, constructability, and compliance with project standards
- Use Navisworks Manage for model review, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination
- Assist with field verification and preparation of as-built drawings
- Travel to project sites as needed
- Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design or a related field
- Experience preparing electrical design and construction drawings
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
- Ability to read electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and other typical construction drawings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain drawing and model accuracy
- Ability to coordinate with engineers, other designers, project managers, vendors, and construction teams
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines
- Five or more years of experience preparing drawings for industrial, power generation, utility, or similar facilities
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Manage
- Familiarity with IFC, DWG, and NWC exports, model coordination workflows, and the data contained within those exports
- Familiarity with Autodesk Forma or similar document and model collaboration platforms
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable electrical drafting and design standards (ANSI)
- Experience working for an EPC firm involved in steam and power projects
