The Health Information Data Specialist is responsible for:

  • Working with the HIM team to manage, analyze, aggregate and distribute data for Devereux Georgia
  • Works collaboratively with the HIM team to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Completes requests for records within required time frames.
  • Maintains confidentiality, integrity and security of data.
  • Develops proficiency with use of the Electronic Medical Record and other data systems.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Georgia provides mental health services for children & adolescents.

Education:

-High School diploma required. Associate's Degree preferred.

Experience:

-Minimum of two (2) years as a data specialist or other related work experience.

-Experience with MS Office and other desktop applications.

-Must have excellent skills in Excel and Access

Other Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License and Satisfactory Drug Screen and Background Check results.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong technical skills and comfortable utilizing in-house computer applications for documenting and reporting purposes.
  • Must be able to complete a two-week, paid new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 8:30am to 5:30pm daily (lunch is included).
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
