Position Summary

The Kitchen Steward at Marietta Country Club plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and overall operational efficiency of the kitchen and food & beverage areas. This position supports the culinary and service teams by ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, glassware, and work spaces are maintained in accordance with the Club’s standards of excellence, safety, and sanitation.

This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment while consistently upholding the elevated service standards of Marietta Country Club.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Kitchen Sanitation & Cleanliness
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout all kitchen, dishwashing, storage, and food preparation areas.
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Properly clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure all workstations, floors, mats, walls, drains, and storage areas are clean and organized.
  • Remove trash and recycling regularly and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Assist with deep cleaning assignments and scheduled cleaning projects.
  • Maintain compliance with local health department regulations and food safety standards.
Operational Support
  • Support culinary and banquet operations by ensuring adequate supplies of clean dishes, utensils, and equipment are readily available.
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries as directed.
  • Safely transport kitchen equipment and supplies between outlets and event locations.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Maintain organization of shelving, walk-ins, storage rooms, and dish areas.
  • Report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns promptly to leadership.
Teamwork & Service Standards
  • Work collaboratively with chefs, cooks, servers, banquet staff, and fellow stewards to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude at all times.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and flexibility with scheduling needs.
  • Uphold the standards, culture, and hospitality expectations of Marietta Country Club.
Qualifications
  • Previous stewarding, dishwashing, kitchen utility, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and club events.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in hot, wet, humid, and fast-paced environments.
  • Must be able to safely operate cleaning equipment and kitchen machinery.
Work Environment

This position operates within a professional hospitality and culinary environment with exposure to commercial kitchen equipment, cleaning chemicals, temperature fluctuations, and moderate noise levels.
