What we need:

The Cloud Data Architect will be responsible for delivering BI solutions within the Flooring North America Data & Analytics team. The candidate should have broad knowledge of analytics concepts to develop reports based on new and existing data sources. They should anticipate organizational impacts of their work and understand procedures and system performance expectations. Collaboration with IT colleagues to facilitate system integrations and report creation is essential.

The candidate also needs hands-on experience with Microsoft Cloud data platform services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and support for BI applications.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as Cloud Data Architect for implementing Azure Cloud Data platform and services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Spark Engine, Power BI/Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, DBT, and Azure infrastructure.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data lakes, warehouses, and marts using ETL tools like Azure Data Factory and custom scripts.
  • Enhance automated release processes with Azure Dev Ops
    , define CI/CD processes, and support test automation frameworks in Microsoft Cloud.
  • Develop Spark applications using Spark-SQL in Databricks for data analysis and transformation.
  • Understand Spark Architecture including core components and deployment models.
  • Deploy Databricks Notebooks using Spark programming languages.
  • Perform problem assessment, resolution, and documentation in Azure Data Factory,
    Azure Function Apps
    , and Logic Apps.
  • Implement cloud data solutions utilizing on-premises and cloud solutions, with extensive experience in Microsoft ecosystem tools like Power BI, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL.
  • Load delta records using CDC techniques for slowly changing dimensions.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions, data mappings, and models.
  • Lead data migration sessions, define data definitions, and design data workflows.
  • Document solutions and support transition to support teams.
  • Monitor performance and data quality, analyze bottlenecks, and optimize Microsoft Azure Data platform and Azure Databricks.
  • Test data and models, document results, and estimate backlog items.
  • Develop root cause analyses and provide recommendations for issue resolution.
  • Communicate progress to IT and business stakeholders, update tickets and change requests regularly.

What you have:

  • Experience managing Azure Virtual Networks, including Hub and Spoke architecture, subnets, and security groups.
  • Proficiency in Azure resource management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and cost optimization.
  • Experience with security and compliance, including firewalls, access control, and encryption.
  • Skills in automating tasks using Azure CLI, Power Shell, and ARM templates.
  • Knowledge of Azure backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Educational background:
    Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., computer science, engineering, information systems).
  • At least 5 years of experience in data extraction, building datalakehouse solutions with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and DBT; SAP ERP experience is a plus.
  • At least 5 years in building data pipelines, managing repositories like Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub, or Bitbucket, and developing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in deploying and maintaining Microsoft Azure services.
  • 2+ years working with data governance tools like Microsoft Purview and Azure Databricks Unity Catalog.
