Description of department function:
Litigation document review of state level attorney firms in the credit card collection space. Responsible for reviewing and analyzing legal documents, templates and compliance materials used in credit card collections. This role requires a review of legal documents to ensure they align with all applicable federal and state laws, industry regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate has a strong background and understanding of debt collection laws, consumer protection regulations and credit industry standards.
Preferred candidate has paralegal certification.
Day to day responsibilities of the role:
Review card collection related legal documents, letters, agreements and templates to ensure compliance with federal and state laws including FDCPA, FCRA and other applicable regulations. Ensure all templates and communications are legally sound, consistent and compliant with applicable requirements and internal bank policies. Identify and escalate potential compliance risks or in consistences in legal language or procedures. Collaborate with manager, peers and legal partners regarding any concerns identified.
