The Garage Porter - Janitorial role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within parking garages and related facilities. This position focuses on ensuring that all areas, including parking spaces, walkways, stairwells, and entry points, are free from debris, spills, and hazards. The role contributes significantly to the overall customer experience by upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety, which supports the smooth operation of the garage.

The Garage Porter will work closely with facility management and other team members to identify maintenance needs and report any issues promptly. Ultimately, this position plays a key role in preserving the facility’s appearance and functionality, promoting a positive impression for all visitors and staff.

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

• Previous experience in janitorial or porter roles, preferably in parking or garage facilities.
• Familiarity with safety regulations related to facility maintenance and cleaning.
• Ability to operate basic maintenance equipment such as floor scrubbers or snow removal tools.
• Good communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with team members.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays.

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal throughout the garage facility.
• Maintain cleanliness of stairwells, elevators, entryways, and common areas to ensure safety and accessibility.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues, including lighting problems, spills, or structural concerns, to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with snow removal, debris clearance, and other seasonal or weather-related tasks as needed to maintain safe conditions.
• Support the janitorial team by restocking supplies and ensuring cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
