The following describes the responsibilities and requirements for a warehouse/shop-floor role in this organization. This description is not an exhaustive statement of duties and requirements.

• Must be certified in the material handler position.
• Set up, operate, and maintain cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
• Pull, inspect and verify product before processing.
• Properly and safely set up equipment to run material to set up note specifications.
• Process set up notes according to work order specifications.
• Verify that product meets set up note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements (sampling plan).
• Communicate with appropriate sales representative regarding changes/clarification to orders.
• Be able to make recommendations to improve processes in the manufacturing area.
• Perform equipment preventive maintenance; perform general clean-up.
• Properly enter/delete material identification tags per written instructions.
• Balance the immediate workload, recognizing when help is needed and when to be a team player to assist or direct others.
• Assist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work order.
• Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.
• Properly operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements.
• Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
• Perform quality checks during machine operation to ensure proper function.
• Complete production/productivity logs and reconcile production data.
• Complete job responsibilities in a manner that maintains safety for all personnel.
• Train others when required.
• Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.
• This position works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Minimum Requirements
:

• High school diploma / GED
• 1 to 2 years machine operation experience
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
• Perform basic math skills
• Use of handheld measuring tools
• Safety Mindset

Preferred Requirements
:

• Previous warehouse experience - especially in the metals industry
• Previous forklift experience
• Computer literate
