Job Responsibilities:

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Performs research activities and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment. Records observations, measurements, and reports results. Provides technical support for research activities. May provide oversight to undergraduate students engaged in research.

Position Status

This position is considered limited‑term staff since it utilizes contingent funding which is currently only secured through July 2026. Employment thereafter will be conditional based on continued availability of funding.

Responsibilities
  • Engages in research activities such as design and perform experiments, and record and analyze data.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
  • May oversee undergraduate research projects.
  • Assists with laboratory maintenance, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and ordering and stocking of equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the area of study.
  • Required Experience:

    Some experience conducting research.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred Educational

    Qualifications:

    An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.
  • Preferred Experience:

    Experience in writing and preparing scientific manuscripts.
Salary

The budgeted salary range is $17.42 to $21.78 per hour. Offers are based on relevant experience. Comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental, Vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation, generous retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more.

Abilities

Able to deal with multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines. Responsible and professional. Knowledge of scientific principles, laboratory safety practices, laboratory terminology, equipment, materials, and procedures and laboratory methods relating to field of study. Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills. Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office, Graph Pad Prism, Adobe and/or Corel Graphics, other field related programs).

Strong attention to detail and follow up skills. Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette.
