Primary location for job responsibilities:
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department specific knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Post-doctoral research experience that includes conducting, disseminating, and publishing ethics, critical theory, and humanistic research; mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; reviews, books, articles, and other publications and presentations at local and national levels; preparing lectures and reports.
- Successful media, technology, or business industry experience (non-academic), such as start-up, entrepreneurial, managerial, or executive experience, to bridge knowledge generation and application.
- Expertise in qualitative and critical approaches with proficiency in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Experience with data collection processes (focus groups, interviews, observations, surveys, case studies, critical theory, critical discourse analysis, ethnography).
Responsible for planning, implementation, and execution of research activities leading to the establishment of an externally funded research program. May serve as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI for projects and grants, as well as other interdepartmental projects used as cost-share for the research center.
Responsibilities- Plan, lead, conduct, and report original research initiatives; contribute to externally funded programs.
- Design, construct, and operate complex research apparatus.
- Conduct experimental design, data collection, reduction, interpretation, manuscript and grant development.
- Mentor undergraduate students performing research and supervise the research lab.
- Use standard evaluation tools and assist in creating new data collection instruments.
- Responsible for grant writing and proposal development.
- Coordinate with other campus academic colleges to support interdisciplinary research.
- Prepare progress and final reports, conduct literature reviews, collect and analyze data, attend grant meetings, and prepare publications.
- Supervise and mentor other grant team members as required by the grant.
- Disseminate knowledge through reports, articles, white papers, publications, and presentations.
- Prepare lectures and presentations.
- Educational Requirements: Doctoral degree in a discipline related to the specific research.
- Required Experience: At least three (3) years post-doctoral research experience.

Qualifications:
An advanced degree in a related field such as higher education, student affairs, educational leadership, or related area. - Preferred Experience: Experience with grant writing and securing grants; experience conducting mixed-methods research; proficiency with statistics software (SPSS, Stata) and NVivo; experience with data collection methods.
- ABILITIES: Extensive documented scholarly contributions; ability to lead and conduct research; ability to supervise others; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- KNOWLEDGE: Publication of research results is highly desirable.
- SKILLS: Interpersonal, communication, time management, project management, writing skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software; strong attention to detail.
