Job Summary
The Cook II – Men’s Grille at Marietta Country Club is a highly visible, member‑facing culinary professional responsible for preparing and presenting exceptional food in accordance with established club recipes and standards. This role is extremely forward‑facing, interacting directly with members in the Men’s Grille and representing the club’s culinary excellence through professionalism, communication, and plate presentation. The Cook II plays a key role in delivering an outstanding a la carte dining experience while supporting catered events and maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and hospitality.

- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, recipes, and preparation methods.
- Executes consistent food preparation with exceptional plate presentation.
- Uses proper portioning techniques and adheres strictly to club standards.
- Identifies and resolves any food quality concerns immediately.
- Reads and follows recipes accurately.
- Possesses strong foundational knife skills.
- Understands and applies culinary terminology and instructions.
- Works in a highly visible kitchen environment where direct member interaction is expected.
- Maintains a professional, polished demeanor while engaging with members.
- Responds promptly and professionally to member requests, questions, and special accommodations.
- Resolves guest dissatisfaction or concerns regarding dishes with urgency and courtesy.
- Demonstrates hospitality‑focused communication at all times.
- Reads and tracks tickets during service to manage timing and execution.
- Maintains effective communication with the expediter and fellow team members regarding order status, availability, and special circumstances.
- Performs well in a high‑volume, high‑stress service environment.
- Assists fellow employees to ensure seamless, guest‑focused operations.
- Accepts constructive feedback and contributes positively to the team environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management to ensure complete member satisfaction.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation, including floors, counters, tools, cutting boards, and preparation surfaces.
- Follows all safety protocols and procedures.
- Adheres to club health and sanitation standards at all times.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Line Cook in a private club, hotel, upscale restaurant, or fine dining establishment.
- Proven ability to perform in a high‑stress, fast‑paced kitchen.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proactive, independent, and able to take initiative.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be punctual and dependable.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, and reach continuously.
- Must be able to lift 30–40 pounds and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Schedule:
