Overview
The Outside Sales Leader is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and building enviable customer relationships. This role focuses on managing established drywall and building material accounts and fostering long‑term partnerships with key leaders. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong communicator, and hands‑on leader with a track record of delivering results in an outside sales environment in the drywall supply or building materials industry.
SalesLeadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets across assigned territories.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
- Design and implement territory management and account‑development plans.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and performance reports for senior leadership.
- Build and maintain enviable relationships with key accounts and strategic leaders inside those accounts.
- Conduct bi-annual Top to Top meetings to develop account level planning and performance.
- Create annual revenue plans based on market and customer information.
- Oversee CRM usage to ensure accurate reporting, pipeline visibility, and customer documentation.
- Coordinate with Inside Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Product teams to support sales initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing structures, and sales processes.
- Optimize sales routes, travel strategies, and territory coverage for maximum efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of successful outside sales experience preferably in the drywall supply or building materials industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly within assigned territory.
- Experience in B2B sales within the drywall supply or building materials industry.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision‑making.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to motivate buyers and inspire teams.
