Position Overview
The Product Specialist supports sheetfed product sales and market development in the West Region. Working closely with Account Managers, Sales, and Service teams, the specialist drives achievement of annual operating plan goals, expands market share, and serves as a technical expert in sheetfed offset products. The role also acts as a liaison between regional sales teams, executive management, and global counterparts in Germany.
Primary focus is the West Region, but additional opportunities across North America may arise.

What You Will Do- Provide ongoing technical and product support to field sales and service teams, including customer meetings, demonstrations, and product presentations.
- Analyze competitive positioning, identify strengths and weaknesses, and communicate findings to sales teams and management.
- Recommend and communicate effective sales strategies to support revenue growth and improve market positioning.
- Assist in regional forecasting and pipeline development for sheetfed opportunities.
- Support additional Heidelberg products as assigned.
- Identify operational inefficiencies or profitability concerns and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop solutions.
- Participate in trade shows, presentations, and customer events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Education: Associate’s degree or completion of a vocational apprenticeship program in a related field.
- Experience: 7–10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Training: Extensive job‑related training (7+ months) may be required.

Skills:
Sheetfed press operation knowledge, product manufacturing and printing industry expertise, strong presentation and communication skills, influence sales strategy, self‑motivation, independent work, organizational and follow‑up skills, executive‑level customer communication. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM systems (MS‑CRM or similar). Basic PC proficiency.
Frequent travel (approximately 34–66% of the time) to support customer visits, product demonstrations, and regional sales activities.
Working ConditionsThe role may involve exposure to manufacturing or printing environments, including noise, dust or fumes, mechanical equipment, electrical hazards. Proper safety procedures and equipment must be followed at all times.
Physical Requirements- Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Occasional standing or walking during demonstrations or facility visits.
- Repetitive use of hands for computer work.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
The Product Specialist must possess a strong sales mindset, be comfortable asking for orders, closing opportunities, and identifying customer needs. Independent work, industry knowledge, and effective presentation to executive‑level decision makers are critical.
