Position Summary
The Lead Installer is a senior field leader responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing complex electronic system installations. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while upholding company standards, safety requirements, and customer satisfaction. The Lead Installer serves as both a technical expert and a mentor to field staff.
Key Responsibilities- Install, program, troubleshoot, test, and certify electronic systems including fire alarm, security, CCTV, access control, intercom, sound, voice/data, and nurse call systems
- Lead and support multiple commercial and large-scale projects simultaneously
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
- Diagnose system issues and coordinate with manufacturers and vendors as needed
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and within budget
- Maintain accurate system documentation, logs, and project records
- Secure and manage job site materials, tools, and equipment
- Foster strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Supervise and support assigned project staff while promoting safety and quality standards
- Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- NICET Level I (minimum)
- EST3 Certification
- Preferred:
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- NICET Level II or higher
- EST IO64 / IO1000, EST 3 & 3X
- OSHA 30
- BICSI Installer 2
- Panduit, Hubbell, Firelite ES-50X, or other relevant certifications
- Required:
- 7–12 years of relevant construction or low-voltage systems experience (without certifications)
- Preferred:
- 10–15 years of experience with at least two of the listed certifications
- Advanced knowledge of electronic systems, materials, and installation methods
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics
- Proficiency with computer-based programming and configuration tools
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., work from ladders, and safely operate power tools
- Work is performed in active construction environments
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions as required
