Under the supervision of professional staff, deliver a wide range of counseling services including initial consultation, diagnostic and treatment formulation, crisis intervention, short‑term individual counseling and psycho educational and process focused group counseling to the campus community.
Responsibilities- Participates in all training program requirements
- Provides direct clinical services to University students
- Develops and provides psycho educational programming focused on education and prevention
- Fulfillment of academic program requirements for participation in internship match with three (3) years of related academic work, and at least two 9‑month, supervised practicum experiences.
- Minimum of 450 direct client contact hours of supervised clinical training in a formal practicum setting.
- Successful collaboration with treatment team and external constituents
- Substantive training in professional psychology, including supervised
Abilities
:
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Knowledge
:
Familiarity with short‑term models of treatment;
Knowledge of professional, national, and state ethical guidelines
Skills
:
Individual, group, and couples counseling skills with young adult population presenting with concerns across the continuum of mental health;
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills;
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite);
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills;
Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette
