About the Role

Build Technology Group is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing delivery team. In this role, you will work alongside software engineers, project managers, business analysts, and customer stakeholders to ensure the quality of enterprise software applications throughout the development lifecycle. You ll participate in requirements reviews, develop comprehensive test plans, execute manual testing, identify defects, validate fixes, and help improve the overall quality of every release.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys understanding how software works, solving problems, and helping development teams deliver reliable, high-quality solutions. This position is based in the Atlanta metropolitan area and requires working in the office four days per week. One day each week may be worked remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute manual test plans, test cases, and regression test suites
  • Validate new features, enhancements, integrations, and production defect fixes
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution
  • Collaborate closely with software developers to reproduce issues and verify completed fixes
  • Participate in requirements and design reviews to identify potential quality concerns before development begins
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing
  • Validate application data and business logic using Microsoft SQL Server
  • Test REST APIs and integrations using tools such as Postman
  • Support release validation and production deployment activities
  • Maintain clear testing documentation and communicate testing results to project teams
  • Recommend improvements to testing processes, documentation, and overall software quality practices
  • Work across multiple projects while effectively managing priorities and deadlines
Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of professional software quality assurance experience
  • Experience testing web-based business applications
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience writing detailed test plans, test cases, and defect reports
  • Experience using Azure Dev Ops, Jira, or similar work management platforms
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and executing SQL queries
  • Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing Microsoft .NET applications
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks and scripting
  • Experience validating data integrations and backend services
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure environments
