Position Overview
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for installing door hardware materials for new-construction projects, performing daily shipping and receiving tasks, and maintaining an organized, efficient warehouse environment. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to support additional warehouse duties as needed. The associate must understand reporting structure and work effectively under multiple supervisors while coordinating with team members.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Installation
- Install door hardware, trim, and related materials designated for new-construction projects.
- Follow installation standards, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
Shipping & Receiving
- Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, inspect for damage, and document deliveries.
- Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Ship outgoing materials according to job schedules and logistical requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs of incoming and outgoing products.
- Prepare and stage materials for field crews or direct delivery.
Warehouse Organization
- Label, sort, and catalog all materials using a consistent, systematic method.
- Keep inventory areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist in implementing organizational improvements and storage solutions.
Inventory Management
- Track inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Prepare material orders for job sites based on project needs
- Support cycle counts and inventory audits.
Cross-Functional Support
- Assist with general warehouse duties when requested.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and drivers.
- Understand the warehouse chain of command and respond to directions accordingly.
Logistics & Coordination
- Coordinate shipments to ensure materials reach job sites on schedule.
- Work with drivers, vendors, and field teams to solve logistical challenges.
- Prepare documentation and labels for all outgoing shipments.
- Previous warehouse or construction-related experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in a physically active environment.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and warehouse equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer or tablet proficiency.
- Ability to follow instructions from multiple authorized supervisors.
- Valid driver s license preferred; forklift certification a plus.
- Flexible and willing to take on tasks beyond primary responsibilities.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Committed to safety and maintaining a hazard-free workspace.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
