Order Selector / Inventory Put-Away Associate Job Description
The Inventory Put-Away associate safely moves received goods from the receiving dock to designated storage bin locations, scans items using a warehouse management system (WMS) to update real-time stock data, and keeps inventory organized for fast and accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities- Safely transport pallets, parts, and merchandise from the receiving area to assigned warehouse racks or bins.
- Move received goods from the receiving dock to designated storage bin locations in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management system (WMS) software to log barcode labels and match inventory items to exact storage slots.
- Scan items to update real-time stock data and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Verify item quantities and conditions upon put-away to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Prevent misplacements by carefully matching items to correct bin locations and storage slots.
- Immediately report minor discrepancies in inventory quantities, labels, or locations to the appropriate contact.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach forklifts, cherry pickers, electric pallet jacks, and other order-picking equipment in a safe and compliant manner.
- Support shipping and order picking activities as needed to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Maintain aisles, staging zones, and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow all safety regulations and warehouse procedures while performing daily tasks.
- Contribute to an organized inventory layout that supports rapid order retrieval and efficient warehouse operations.
- Experience with inventory handling and stock transport in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks.
- Ability to perform order picking and support shipping activities.
- Experience using RF scanners to log barcode labels and track inventory.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) to update and maintain real-time stock data.
- Attention to detail when verifying item quantities, conditions, and storage locations.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety regulations.
- Capability to work independently and follow established warehouse procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or similar inventory and warehouse management software.
- Prior experience in a smaller warehouse facility environment.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse setting.
- Strong communication skills to report discrepancies and coordinate with team members.
- Reliability and consistency in following safety and operational guidelines.

Work EnvironmentThis role operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position is based in a smaller warehouse facility that is not climate controlled, so temperatures will vary with the seasons. You will work around material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks, using RF scanners and WMS/SAP systems to manage inventory.
The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork throughout daily operations.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kennesaw, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 – $18.00/hr.
