Mobile Crisis Driver - Poplar Bluff area
Full Time Kennett, MO, US
Job Purpose
The Mobile Crisis Driver operates and transports a large RV-style Mobile Crisis Unit that supports behavioral health crisis response services. A CDL is not required but is preferred. This position requires safe driving practices, dependability, and attention to detail. The driver is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and readiness of the vehicle and ensuring the unit is prepared to support crisis response operations as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of verifiable driving experience; clean driving record.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL), preferred.
Core Job Duties
- Safely operate agency vehicles while adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in safe operating condition by conducting routine inspections, reporting mechanical issues promptly, and coordinating required maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle environment to support client comfort and safety.
- Respond promptly to crisis calls, transporting Mobile Crisis team members and, when appropriate, individuals receiving services to designated locations.
- Utilize GPS, dispatch information, and established protocols to navigate efficiently and arrive at response locations in a timely manner.
- Maintain effective communication with Mobile Crisis staff, dispatch personnel, supervisors, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and other community partners as needed.
- Complete required vehicle logs, mileage records, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and within established time frames.
- Assist in ensuring the safety and well-being of clients during transport by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and trauma-informed care practices.
- Represent the organization positively through respectful interactions, professionalism, and a commitment to high-quality behavioral health services.
- Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
