Construction Project Engineer
Position Summary
The Construction Project Engineer supports healthcare construction projects in the Yakima, Washington area. This role partners closely with Project Managers and field teams to assist with project planning and daily execution while ensuring quality, safety, and financial performance.
This is a great opportunity for both early-career professionals and recent graduates in construction or engineering fields who are looking to build their careers in commercial construction, particularly within complex healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assist Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects
+ Support development and maintenance of project schedules
+ Manage and track submittals to ensure timely approvals
+ Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials and equipment
+ Process and track RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation
+ Assist with project start-up, administrative setup, and close-out activities
+ Support project cost control and financial tracking
+ Collaborate with field teams to ensure efficient project execution
+ Promote strong client relationships and a high level of customer service
+ Uphold and reinforce jobsite safety standards and a strong safety culture
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
+ (Recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
+ OR equivalent field experience in commercial construction
+ 0-3+ years of experience with a general contractor (internships/co-ops count)
+ Basic understanding of construction processes, documentation, and project workflows
+ Strong organizational and communication skills
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
+ Commitment to safety and quality on construction projects
Preferred Qualifications
+
Experience with healthcare or commercial construction projects
+ Familiarity with project tools such as Bluebeam and Procore
+ Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, and change order processes
+ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
+ Interest in growing a long-term career within a commercial construction environment
Work Environment
This position supports healthcare construction projects in the Yakima, WA area and requires working primarily onsite in an active construction environment. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients. The organization fosters a collaborative, team-oriented culture with a strong emphasis on mentorship, professional development, and safety. This is a Contract position based out of Kennewick, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/hr.
