QualificationsRequired
- Washington State teacher’s certificate with endorsement in Mathematics
- Satisfactory evaluation
Preferred
- Training or experience in:
- Data driven instructional techniques
- Use of Star Math
- Use of technology as a part of instruction
- Knowledge of Cooperative learning strategies
- Building positive student rapport and relationships
- Motivating reluctant learners
- Recent successful experience working with high school level math students (Algebra - AP Calculus)
- Experience in developing learning plans and contracts.
- Evidence of successful work as a member of an instructional team.
- Previous satisfactory performance evaluations and positive recommendations.
- Willingness to be trained and use the Make Your Day respect and responsibility program.
- Punctual and consistent attendance.
- Work closely with parents in designing home study plans and interventions.
- Attend and participate in faculty and team meetings.
- Participate in workshops and other staff development programs that support the program and building goals.
- Be an effective member of a teaching team by establishing and maintaining cooperative, professional relationships with others.
- Knowledgeable about ways to modify student work.
- Work with team members to develop a flexible schedule to meet the needs of all students.
- Work with team members to create/administer common assessments, looking for ways to improve delivery of instruction.
- Be innovative in approaches to students to encourage and foster a strong sense of educational importance.
- Communicate clearly and with regularity student performances to parents.
- Clearly communicate student behavior expectations using the Make Your Day Program.
- Use the computer for instruction, to keep accurate records of student attendance and academic progress.
- Enforce and uphold all district and building policies and regulations.
