COMPLETION OF SAFE SCHOOLS WEB BASED TRAINING IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Qualifications Required- Valid Washington State Teacher's Certificate with endorsement in Special Education
- Satisfactory Evaluations
- Provide basic education assistance in core subject areas and prepare lessons in reading and math
- At least one full year successful school teaching experience with satisfactory evaluations within the last five years
- Demonstrated success in managing and modifying disruptive student behaviors, executive functioning deficits, and social/personal/responsibility behaviors associated with students with learning disabilities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with MDT and Community Based Learning Sites
- Knowledge of teaching reading, writing and math Common Core Standards to special need students
- Participate in team teaching situations with general educators
- Training and experience in curriculum development
- Training and experience utilizing computer technology for word processing, spreadsheet activities, presentation, grading, recording attendance, communicating by e-mail, and implementing these into daily classroom use
- Ability to motivate and instruct students of all ability levels with emphasis on individual learning styles in regular classroom and integrated settings
- Maintaining a positive, productive learning climate within the classroom as well as with parents and colleagues
- Demonstrated leadership in professional activities related to special education
- Punctual and consistent attendance
Movements: stand and walk for prolonged periods, push/pull 18-26 lbs, sit, kneel, crouch, twist, bend, use hands to type and handle. Reach with hands and arms.
Sense: talk/hear conversations; communicate effectively in person and telephone. Taste and smell. Vision: close, far, color, peripheral, depth perception; adjust focus.
Lifting: lift or move up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 26 lbs occasionally; lift overhead. May need to move quickly in emergencies or supervise students.
Environment: outdoors in temperatures from
-10°F to 100°F+, wet/humid conditions; moderate noise level.
