QualificationsRequired:
- Valid Washington teacher's certificate with endorsements in K-8 or middle level Mathematics & Science or Mathematics & Science.
- Satisfactory recommendations.
Preferred:
- Understanding of the math Common Core State Standards.
- Willingness to participate in Professional Learning Communities.
- Ability to teach all math classes offered at the school, including high school level algebra and geometry.
- GLAD trained with successful implementation in classroom instruction or willingness to be trained and implement GLAD strategies.
- Documented experience or training in developing and teaching a middle-level curriculum in math.
- Evidence of the ability to establish rapport with students and motivate and instruct students at all levels of ability.
- Evidence of the ability to maintain a positive, productive learning environment within the classroom.
- Strong communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
- Strong knowledge of classroom organization and management skills.
- Ability to be flexible with students, staff, and parents.
- Punctual and consistent attendance.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare for assigned classes and provide written evidence of such preparation.
- Provide instruction based on the Common Core State Standards in Math and NGSS in Science.
- Attend and participate in faculty and PLC team meetings.
- Participate in workshops and other staff development programs that support building goals.
- Be an effective member of a professional learning community by establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with others.
- Clearly communicate student performance expectations and use student data to provide MTSS interventions.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback on a regular basis.
- Communicate regularly and positively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Clearly communicate student behavior expectations; create classroom routines and procedures that manage student behavior skillfully; discipline students fairly and consistently using the Make Your Day Respect and Responsibility program.
- Use computer to keep accurate records of student attendance and academic progress.
- Evidence of training and experience utilizing computer technology in the classroom including Google Classroom and the Google Suite.
- Enforce and uphold all District and building policies and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
