Resource Room Teacher (1.0 FTE Con).
Location:
Amistad Elementary.
Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training is required as a condition of employment.
Qualifications Required- Valid Washington State Teacher's Certificate with endorsement in Special Education
- Satisfactory Evaluations
- Provide basic education assistance in core subject areas and prepare lessons identified in reading and math.
- Evidence of at least one full year of successful school teaching experience with satisfactory evaluations within the last five years.
- Demonstrated success in managing and modifying disruptive student behaviors, executive functioning deficits, and social/personal/responsibility behaviors that may be associated with students with learning disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with MDT and Community Based Learning Sites.
- Knowledge of and experience in teaching reading, writing and math Common Core Standards to special need students.
- Participate in team teaching situations with general educators.
- Evidence of training and experience in curriculum development.
- Evidence of training and experience utilizing computer technology for word processing, spreadsheet activities, presentation, grading, recording attendance, and communicating by e‑mail and implementing these into daily classroom use.
- Evidence of the ability to motivate and instruct students of all ability levels with emphasis on providing for their individual learning styles in the regular classroom and in integrated settings.
- Evidence of maintaining a positive, productive learning climate within the classroom as well as with parents and colleagues.
- Demonstrated leadership in professional activities related to special education.
- Punctual and consistent attendance.
